A short distance from Estepona, on the way to Marbella, there is an animal park with an area of one million square meters. This attraction is so vast that you are guaranteed to get a great view of white rhinos, Bengal tigers, zebras, lions and giraffes in semi-wild captivity. There are a total of 2,000 animals and among them is "Kanvar", the only Asian elephant born on Spanish soil. The adventure doesn't end there; Selwo Aventura also has camel ride packages, a petting zoo and a wobbly suspension bridge trail and Europe's largest zip line.
You can also combine this trip with a combined ticket that allows you to go on another day to the water park of the same organization with dolphins, orcas, etc.
A high-end marina with an abundance of exclusive yachts and cars. A place to see and be seen! But there is more! Markets, shopping malls (El Corte Inglès), cinema (with English version movies) and many, many restaurants!
Also fun with kids. There are monkeys everywhere so no food in your hand and keep your bag! They are very rude. There is also a history corridor, very exciting for children, cannons everywhere! And on arrival, you go through the airport, when the barriers close, it's not a train, but a plane!
A mountain village with the oldest bullring in all of Spain. A beautiful and huge bridge, Moorish influences, just a beautiful place and a fantastic ride through the mountains.
A beautiful little village with an amazing view of the coast. On the way to Casares you will come across some very good restaurants! In the town itself there are plenty of bars and restaurants, a mirador and an old castle that are worth a visit.
In recent years, Estepona has become the scene of a major rejuvenation plan known as the "Garden of the Costa del Sol" project. One of the most impressive and popular points of this project is undoubtedly the street art route. Beautiful murals are scattered throughout the city. This is a very fun, interactive and unique way to spend an afternoon exploring the city. There are several maps available at the tourist information center in Estepona to help you find them all. The route started in 2012 and the murals are painted on the sides of buildings all over the city. Artists have turned the walls into great works of art. Some are breathtaking!
The purpose of the murals is to rejuvenate some of the "dead" neighborhoods in Estepona, but they have become a tourist attraction worth your attention!
The Senda Litoral de Malaga (Malaga Coastal Trail) is a planned 163 km trail that runs along the entire coast of Malaga province from Manilva to Nerja. Once completed, this long-distance trail will become a major tourist attraction on the Costa del Sol and Andalusia.
The goal of the coastal path project is to unify the coast through footpaths and allow citizens to walk and do sports in the fresh air. This project, which will be spread throughout the municipality, will change the face of the coast. Last but not least, this project already offers neighbors and tourists the opportunity to use unknown areas of the city and environments that were previously inaccessible; as well as privileged views of spaces in which to engage in healthy outdoor activities.
Mountain biking, hiking trails and views... No matter which way you approach Marbella, the seashell-shaped mountain peak always dominates this seaside city, which attracts the wealthy like a magnet. If you want to see the seemingly bare and gray rock from a different perspective, you can decide to climb it!
The peculiarity of the climb to La Concha is not so much the height of "only" 1181 meters, but the location! It is located so close to the coast. Thanks to this, you will always have the most beautiful panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the coastal strip of Fuengirola all the way to Manilva. You are literally looking down on Marbella. Sometimes you can see the Atlas Mountains in Africa on the other side. Sometimes we almost want to swim in the sea, it seems so close to us. You can reach the top of La Concha from Marbella itself, from Refugio de Juanar in Ojén or from the white mountain village of Istán. Shortest route: from the Hotel Refugio el Juanar.
Above the Costa del Sol, just before you reach the white village of Benahavis, beyond Marbella and San Pedro, there is a hidden paradise, a secret place where you can find cooling water, a stream where you can walk, swim and refresh. You can park your car at the arrival point to the river here: 36°30'38.9″N 5°02'08.3″W and follow the road towards the village of Benahavis until you reach where you start your hack ( here : 36°31'02.6″N 5°02'25.6″W), only in swimwear and walking shoes. Enjoy a leisurely swim, walk and hike of about 1.5 hours and arrive at the shallow river bank where you parked your car.
It is also good to know that the village of Benahavis has always been known as a place to eat and dine in special restaurants!
If you would like more detailed information, maps or locations of these activities, please let our staff know. We will be happy to help you on your journey during your stay in our wonderful guest house on the Costa del Sol.
